PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT: 26 DECEMBER 2016 AND 2 JANUARY 2017 DECLARED AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) HOLIDAYS THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY

By virtue of Proclamation No. 117, the Palace has declared 26 December 2016 and 2 January 2017 as Special (Non-Working) Holidays throughout the country. In a letter sent by the Acting Executive Secretary Menardo I. Guevarra, the declaration of the holidays aim to “give the people full opportunity to celebrate the holidays with their families and lived ones.” Further, the letter states that “a longer weekend promotes domestic tourism and enables employers to plan their work schedules effectively and efficiently, resulting in improved productivity.”
